For those using the LAMP Words for Life language system, there are resources for learning and modeling the system on this page.  The language system and symbols used for LAMP are called "Unity," and the name of the app or program is "LAMP," which stands for "Language Acquisition through Motor Planning."  LAMP is one of several high-tech AAC systems in use in our district.  At first glance, it appears very different than other systems, and may seem difficult to learn.  But it has some distinct advantages, including extreme efficiency (users can access nearly any word in 2-3 taps).

Here are some links to modeling, therapy, and interaction activities you can use to practice the LAMP Words for Life system.  (PRC is the name of the company that sells the LAMP app and devices.)

• Charts, social stories, vocabulary supports, and other free LAMP resources from PRC's website

• Modeling phrases, play ideas, and low-tech (printable) symbol supports that match the LAMP system for many common play themes such as cars, bubbles, sensory table, etc, from the PRC website.
